A Holistic Approach to Your Well-being: Narrative, CBT, and ACT
In my practice, I believe that while your struggles are real, they do not define who you are. My therapeutic philosophy is built on the understanding that every individual possesses unique strengths and values that can be harnessed to overcome life’s challenges. By integrating Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I provide a versatile, evidence-based approach tailored to your specific needs. Together, we will work to create a life that feels authentic, manageable, and aligned with what matters most to you.
One of the most powerful shifts we can make in psychotherapy is moving from "I am the problem" to "the problem is the problem." Through a Narrative Therapy lens, I help you externalize your challenges, allowing you to view your life from a new perspective. This process helps us identify your core values and skills, empowering you to rewrite your story and confront future obstacles with a renewed sense of agency. By deconstructing the negative narratives that hold you back, you can reclaim your identity and live in closer alignment with your true self.
To complement this journey, I utilize Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to address the practical, day-to-day patterns of the mind. CBT is a goal-oriented talk therapy that focuses on the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and actions. We will work together to identify maladaptive thought patterns—those "inner scripts" that trigger anxiety or low mood—and challenge them with more adaptive, realistic perspectives. By developing these mental tools, you gain the ability to catch negative thoughts in real-time and replace them with constructive responses that foster emotional resilience.
For the moments when thoughts feel overwhelming or unchangeable, we lean into Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This approach emphasizes mindfulness and psychological flexibility, teaching you to radically accept your experiences rather than fleeing from discomfort. Instead of fighting an internal battle against your thoughts, ACT encourages you to embrace them while staying committed to meaningful action. Whether you are dealing with stress, life transitions, or chronic anxiety, our collaborative work ensures you have the right tools to navigate life’s ups and downs with grace and purpose.

You may be surprised to hear that virtual therapy can be more effective than face to face therapy. Virtual therapy relieves social pressure and gives the option of video on or off. This can increase relaxation by providing a degree of privacy. Give it a try! Making time for your mental health has never been more convenient.

Meeting virtually for therapy means there is no travel time! This allows you to get the help you need without the cost of travel. Meeting online makes the process less daunting, and allows you to maximize the time you have in the day.

According to research, online counseling is equally effective as in person therapy. Some research even suggests greater satisfaction with online therapy due to the convenience, enhanced privacy due to encrypted video conferencing capabilities, and time savings!

Individual sessions are typically 50 minutes in length.
The rate for a 50-minute session is $175
Payments can be made via credit card or e-transfer.
Many insurance companies cover psychotherapy as part of their extended health care insurance benefits. However, all plans are different.
It is your responsibility to check your coverage with your individual benefit and insurance policy before engaging in therapy.
It is important to note that receipts for psychotherapy can be submitted as medical expenses on your personal income tax with the Canadian Revenue Agency.
There is no set time frame for the therapeutic process. Ultimately you will determine the length of our time together. Some people feel they have met their goals after a few sessions, while others make therapy part of their wellness routine. Regular discussions occur during therapy to monitor therapy goals and progress.
Most people attend weekly sessions when initiating therapy to establish a routine and meet their goals. It is encouraged to have a regular appointment day and time for consistency and continuity.

In person or virtual appointments available during flexible hours. "Camera Off" option available for those who prefer a camera free experience.
